Iron Frontier: base layouts that survive the raids
My first Iron Frontier base looked like a spilled drawer. Buildings everywhere, no walls, and every raid felt like a scramble. The turnaround came when I stopped thinking about growth and started thinking about chokepoints.
The core idea is simple: cluster your important buildings and force attackers down narrow paths where your defenses overlap. A single well-placed turret covering a corridor beats three scattered ones. I started leaving deliberate gaps that funneled enemies exactly where I wanted them.
Terrain is your friend here. Backing your base against a ridge means one less direction to defend. I lost a lot before I noticed the map was practically drawing my walls for me.
It's a slower way to play, but raids went from panic to routine. Plan the layout once, defend it a dozen times.
